Swanage Pier looks as glorious today as it would have done over 100 years ago and is an essential part of our town’s unique Victorian heritage.
Situated at the beginning of Dorset’s World Heritage Jurassic Coast, it has given pleasure to generations of holidaymakers and locals and continues to provide moorings for some of the world’s historic sailing ships and other vessels. Swanage Pier is also a valuable marine habitat and an important centre for sub-aqua diving, angling and water sports and provides a regular summer boat service to Bournemouth, Poole and the Isle of Wight. The Pier attracts over 105,000 visitors each year.
The Swanage Pier Trust took control of the Pier Company at the end of 1994 with the aim of restoring and maintaining it for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.
We need to raise £200,000 each year to cover the pier’s running and maintenance costs. This makes your support vital to the future of Swanage Pier.
